F4F#8- BASICS: LUNGE & STRETCH

May 30, 2014

Happy Friday everybody!

Today I'm taking it back to the basics with a few simple stretches and your simple lunge. Stretches are so important to do before and after exercising to make sure you don't strain your body. The lunge is often done incorrectly so I thought I'd also show how to do that too!

Let's go!

The lunge

When doing a lunge you must remember to keep a straight posture. DON'T lean forward. You are lunging down vertically.
How to: Keep your back straight and your shoulders back. Keep your core engaged.
Step forward with one leg and lower your hips until both knees are bent at approximately at a 90 degree angle. Make sure that you can always see the front of your foot (this shows that you are in the correct position).
Challenge: Pulse for 20-30 counts
Where the exercise targets: legs & bum.

Stretches

 The quadricep & arm stretch

Inner leg stretch (keep both feet pointing forward)

The hamstring stretch

Lateral stretch

All of these stretches are very simple & I hope that the photos give you a good idea of how to do them- if you wish to have an in depth post on any of the stretches let me know!
I wish you all luck!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE.

THANKS FOR READING!!

Have an amazing weekend!

Take care,
Eve xx
